Store Locator Module for your Dotnetnuke Website!

Please Note: On Saturday, March 9th, 2013 Google Updated their Maps API resulting in errors during the Search process as well as the inability to add new locations to the system..

The fix requires an update to the ROLocator Module, specifically an updated file MUST be downloaded and dropped into your BIN folder on your site. If you have purchased our locator module in the past you can download the latest fix at the bottom of this page.

The Google Geocoding Fix requires that you download the below file 'ReachOutside.ROLocator.SqlDataProvider.dll' and copy/paste it into your web site BIN directory. This fix addresses a problem with the geocoding service which results in no locations being returned during a Search as well as an error saving new store locations into the system from the admin pages. Are you experiencing Data Import errors with your CSV file? If you are getting a System.InvalidOperationException... Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0 is not registered error, this problem can be solved by either Installing MS Excel or MS Access, or install the Microsoft Office System Driver. This driver is needed by the framework in order to read through a CSV/Excel file. For other errors, try naming your CSV file to something simple such as MyData.csv before uploading it. Do not use any strange characters such as underscores or dates within the file name.

Q1.
Some of my locations are being targeted in an invalid area on the map or even in an invalid country.

Q2.
Can the zoom levels on the Embedded Maps be adjusted?

When entering one of our store locations it only offers US and Canadian states in the drop down box but we are based in a different country. Is there a way to customize this?

We have 3 different divisions in our business. Is there a way we can isolate each division within a search. For example;

A. our searchers will need to go to one page to find a Legal Assistant,
B. they will go to another page to find an Accountant,
C. they go to another page to find a Lawyer

Q5.
The module successfully installed, and I obtained a valid Google Maps API key. However, whenever I try to add a new store location it gives me an error regardless of what zip code I use. Here is the error:

The zip code entered was not found or the Google API Geocoding Service is unavailable. Please try again or check that you've entered a valid Google Maps API Key on the Search Options page.

Q6.
The address when linking through to Google to bring up the full page map or print driving directions is not bringing up our correct location or sometimes the distance being calculated is incorrect.

Q7.
We are not located in the US and therefore we would like our distances to be calculated in Kilometers versus Miles. Can this be done?

Allow the user to over-ride the geocoded values and enter their own Latitude and Longitude for a particular location. There are 2 new textboxes that allow you to input custom coordinates and skip geocoding.
New "Active" flag capability. Any locations marked as Inactive won't show up in the search results.
Fix for the Get Directions button on the location 'Details' page. If the custom fields on the page were set to be displayed as HTML rather than plain text, after the Get Directions was clicked, the custom field values disappeared from the page.
